In perfumery, decanting refers to transferring fragrance from an original bottle into smaller bottles. The juice from the main bottle is used to fill multiple smaller ones, known as decants.

For example, a 100mL bottle can be decanted into ten 10mL bottles.

In gardening, plants are propagated through cuttings. In the tech industry, devices are refurbished to extend their lifespan. In perfumery, fragrances are decanted to be shared.
